Alexander G. Mikerov graduated the Leningrad (now St. Petersburg, Russia) Institute of Fine Mechanics and Optics in 1964. Received the Ph.D. degree in automatic control from the Leningrad Scientific Research Institute “MARS” in 1972 and Doctor of Tech. Sc. degree in electrical equipment from the St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” in 1992. From 1964 till 1995 he was with the Leninets Holding Company. He took up all positions from a Junior Engineer to a Heading Researcher at the Department of Drives, was responsible for research and design of servo drives with brushless DC motors. In 1995 he joined the St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” as a Professor and Head of Electrical Machines Department. From 2002 is a Professor of Control Department. Besides from 2007 he is the ELMA-Ko Company Advisor. His main research interests include automatic control, motion control, electric drives, small electric machines and especially permanent magnet synchronous motors and microcontrollers.
